Defining an Oracle Cloud ERP Job

This section provides instructions for defining a job in TA and descriptions of the various types of tasks and options that can be included in jobs.

Obtaining the Job Definition and Job Set Metadata from Oracle Cloud ERP Server

When defining Oracle Cloud ERP Jobs or Job Sets in Tidal Automation, manually enter the Job and Job Set definition metadata that are obtained from the Oracle Cloud ERP Server.

Note: The images used in this section were captured from the Oracle Cloud ERP Application 21B (11.13.21.04.0). If you use a different version of the application, the navigation and screens might differ.

To obtain the job definition metadata:

  1. Log on to the Oracle Cloud ERP Server.

  2. Click the username at the top right side of the screen and choose Setup and Maintenance from the Settings and Actions > Administration menu.

  3. Click Financials in the Setup dropdown list.

  4. Click Application Extensions > All Tasks > Manage Enterprise Scheduler Job Definitions and Job Sets for Financial, Supply Chain Management and Related Applications.

  5. Click Manage Job Definitions or Manager Job Sets to obtain or retrieve the required job definition metadata used while defining the Oracle Cloud ERP Jobs in Tidal Automation.

Obtaining the Job Definition Metadata

To obtain a job definition metadata

  1. Click Manage Job Definitions.

  2. Choose a job definition from the job definitions list.

  3. Click Edit. These job definition metadata are used while defining an Oracle Cloud ERP job in Tidal Automation.

    Note: Job Application Name, Name (job name), and Path in the Edit Job Definition screen are required to identify these jobs easily from Tidal Automation.

Obtaining the Job Set Metadata

To obtain a job set metadata:

  1. Click Manage Job Sets.

  2. Click a job set from the list of job sets.

  3. Click Edit.

Note: Name (job set name), and Package (Path in Tidal Automation) in the Edit Job Sets screen are required to identify the jobs (job steps) associated with a job set.

In the Job Set Steps section, each job definition is displayed as an individual step. Job step parameters are retrieved from their job definition metadata on the Manage Job Definitions page. While defining the Oracle Cloud ERP job set in Tidal Automation, each job set step is referred to as a Step ID.
